WHY WE'RE HERE
The Owen Jude Memorial Fund through Community North Hospital was started to help families honor the lives of their babies they have lost by enabling them to provide a burial that reflects the love they have for their child.
HOW WE GOT HERE
Wade and Rachel Kimmell had three precious boys and were surprised to find out that they were pregnant with their fourth baby in May 2018. Around ten weeks gestation and after a blood test, they found out they were having another precious baby boy. All blood work and ultra sounds looked good and healthy and Wade and Rachel started preparing for their son arriving in January. Rachel went in at 18 weeks for a routine appointment only to not find a heartbeat for baby Owen. They were unsure when he had passed away since Rachel had felt him move just days before. Later that day, Rachel went in to the hospital to deliver baby Owen. Owen Jude Kimmell was born on August 24, 2018. He was beautifully and perfectly formed. Wade and Rachel chose to honor his body and life by burying him a few days later surrounded by family.

Wade and Rachel soon realized just how much of a financial burden there was after losing a baby once the hospital and funeral home bills started to arrive. They realized that many families do not even have the opportunity to bury their babies because of the cost of the burial alone. The Owen Jude Kimmell Memorial Fund was then started to provide financial assistance to families for private burial or cremation after their baby has passed away.
